Ice Rink

The Ice Rink was opened on October 30, 1971, at the same time as the Palau Blaugrana.

It was designed by the architects Francesc Caballé and Josep Soteras and is home to two of the club?s sections, the ice hockey team (made up of competitive teams and the veterans) and figure skating (with individual performers and ice dance groups).


Construction details

The pavilion was built using reinforced concrete, with a jagged roof. The building covers 3,650 square metres and the rink itself is 61 metres long and 26 wide. It holds a capacity of 1,256 spectators.

Most important events

The Ice Rink has hosted, among other events, important international ice hockey, figure skating and table tennis tournaments, as well as the world fencing championship and the roller hockey World Cup C. Several advertisements have been recorded here, and festivals and other celebrations have used it as the venue.

The Ice Rink offers its facilities to any visitors seeking to enjoy a pleasant time ice skating in the company of family and friends.

You can even hold birthday parties here. Each year many schools also come to skate here as part of their extracurricular activities.



OPENING HOURS SEASON 2008-09:

Monday to Thursday 10.00-14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00.
Friday 10.00-14.00 and 16.00 to 20.00
Weekends and holidays 10.30-14.00 and 17.00 to 20.30.

The opening hours to the public Hill will be extended during the school holiday period. For more information, please call the information and reservations number.

It will be closed on the afternoon of 23rd June and all day on the 24th.


PRICES 2008-09 SEASON:

General public: 11 euros (entrance + skate hire)
Members: 7.50 euros (entrance + skate hire)
General public: 6.50 euros (entrance)
Members: 3.50 euros (entrance)
Skate hire: 4 euros
Schools: 7 euros (entrance + skate hire)
Groups + than 10 people: 10 euros (entrance + skate hire)

Birthday parties:

General public: 10 euros (entrance + skate hire) + than 10 people
Members: 7.50 euros (entrance + skate hire) + than 10 people

• Reservations must be made beforehand, stating the name of the school, group or person celebrating their birthday, how many people are skating and the time and date of the visit.
• If the person holding their birthday party at the Ice Rink is a member, they will be allowed free entry on the day of the party.

Gloves must be worn when skating. If you do not bring your own, you can buy some at the Ice Rink ticket office (2 euros a pair).

FCB Skating School

The Ice Rink is also home to the FCB Skating School, offering classes for all ages and levels, anybody from beginners to advanced skaters looking to hone their skills. The courses last for three months with one hour of classes every week. Intensive courses are available in July. Limited places.
