Inter Defender Marco Materazzi Snipes Back At Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Inter centre-back Marco Materazzi has reacted strongly to Barcelona star Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s comments, which suggested the Swede was the main reason behind the Nerazzurri’s recent dominance in Italy.

‘Ibra’ was certainly instrumental in Inter securing three straight titles following his move from Juventus in 2006, but Materazzi thinks his former team-mate is not telling the whole story.

“He helped us win three Scudetti, but we were a team,” the ‘Matrix’ told reporters at the Civic Arena in Milan last night, where he attended the opening ceremony of the Homeless World Cup.

“Thank you, Ibra, for the three titles, and we’ll see you on Wednesday.”

The Beneamata fans are expected to give Ibrahimovic a hostile reception, but Materazzi would prefer a different tack.

“The thing that can hurt a person the most is indifference,” he concluded.
