Víctor Sánchez Mata (born 8 September 1987 in Terrassa, Barcelona, Catalonia) is a Spanish footballer playing for Spanish football club FC Barcelona.

He is a versatile player who can act as centre back, right back, left back, defensive midfielder and centre midfielder.

Víctor Sánchez joined FC Barcelona in July 2005 from local neighbours CE Europa. In 2006–07 season, while still playing in FC Barcelona C, he played in 36 games and scored 7 goals. In 2007–08 Víctor Sánchez played in FC Barcelona B team, under Josep Guardiola as a coach. He helped his team qualify to Segunda División B league, with 29 appearances and 2 goals, but was unable to play in the Play-Offs because of injury.

Víctor Sánchez made his debut for Barcelona's senior team in the 2-2 draw against CD Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey on 2 January 2008 (at 20 years and 116 days), playing as right back. His debut in La Liga took place in 18 March 2008, when he entered the game against Almería.

New FC Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola called Víctor Sánchez for FC Barcelona's pre-season 2008–09. In the 2008–09 season, he has played on occasion for the first team, but featured mainly for FC Barcelona B.

His ability to play in various positions made him a vital player for Barça B last season as he played almost everywhere except in goal.

Hard working and disciplined, he was instrumental in helping the B side gain promotion back to la Segunda B at the first time of asking as he made 29 appearances. He was unable to play in the Play-Offs because of injury. Made his debut for the first team in the Copa del Rey game against Alcoyano last season.
