Barcelona have nothing to rove as they look to add a new landmark in their history...

CL: Samuel Eto'o - Daniel Alves, Inter Mlan - Barcelona (PA)

Dani Alves has stated that Barcelona are not looking at the record books as they head to Valencia this weekend and thinks the team have nothing to prove.

The Brazilian full-back is proud that the team could make it seven consecutive wins since the start of the season, but just wants the three points to keep up the team's form.

"The record is just statistics. It’s not important," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.

"We’re very strong both at home and away and I that nobody needs to wait for the Valencia result in order to measure our aspirations.

“We do not need to play in the Mestalla in order to find out how far we can go this year.

"The Valencia game is just another step along the path we’ve marked out for ourselves.

"If we beat them we will open up a gap on a team that we will be competing against at the end of the season so we have to go for a win and take our chance."
