Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has said that the 2-0 win away to Cultural Leonesa in the first leg of their Copa del Rey fourth round encounter sets thing up nicely for the return leg in a fortnight.

Two goals from Pedro, one in either half, sent the cup holders on their way to a comfortable victory but Guardiola warned that football can throw up many surprises, as Real Madrid discovered on Tuesday night, so he feels preparation is still key going into the second leg.

"We achieved a good result for the return match, but football can give many surprises and it is better to go with caution. It is another game, 90 minutes is very long and it is better to prepare thoroughly for the second leg," he said, according to Sport, before stating how well Madrid's opponents playing against Los Blancos on Tuesday.

"What surprised me was how well Alcorcon played, they did fantastically well," he remarked.

"We talked about these things and know this can happen, and it happened to Barca already. Benidorm, I remember, almost cost us last year."

The Barca coach concluded by saying that everything went well for his side in the cup tie.

"This squad complies with its obligations and talent does the rest. I'm happy because we have given minute players in need and young players have made their debut. Everything went very well. "
