Aliaksandr Hleb Warns Dmytro Chygrynskiy About Barcelona

Aliaksandr Hleb has warned Dmytro Chygrynskiy that he will have to learn Catalan and adapt quickly if he wants to be fully accepted by Barcelona and their fans.

The Belorusian spent one season at Camp Nou before returning to Stuttgart and is evidently bitter about the way he was treated by the European champions.

Playing only a bit-part in Pep Guardiola's first season at the helm, Hleb was often overlooked as the midfield trio and front three played at such a high level.

Failing to learn anything more than basic Spanish, Hleb felt distanced from the squad and the fans, and thinks that if he had learnt Catalan then he would have fitted in better.

Chygrynskiy joined Barca late in the transfer window and has vowed to adapt quickly, and Hleb thinks that if he does not then he will not be seen as a success.

"In Catalunya the people who live there are very patriotic and the Ukrainian will have to speak their language to be accepted fully," he told the German media.

"His exploits on the pitch do not guarantee that they will accept him."
