Inter veteran Javier Zanetti has described Argentina team-mate Lionel Messi as the best player in the world and admitted that it is impossible to mark the Barcelona star."Messi is the best player in the world, the things he does with the ball are incredible," said Zanetti.
"If someone knows how to stop him, they have to tell me. At the moment, he is a different player, it is a joy and an honour to be in the same squad."
Zanetti spoke to Spanish publication Sport about the upcoming UEFA Champions League showdown between Inter and Barcelona at the San Siro but insisted that the priority for both players at the moment is a win in their crucial World Cup qualifier against Paraguay in Asuncion on Wednesday.
"Our immediate objective is qualifying for the World Cup, but soon we will be rivals," remarked the 36-year-old right-back.
Argentina have a precarious, two-point cushion in fourth place, the last automatic qualifying spot in the South American CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Group table, with three games remaining.
Zanetti also revealed that the secret to his own longevity is mental strength, more so than physical fitness and the right diet and rest.
"The key is mental. I never settle. I always seek to improve, but I also give a lot of importance to food and sleep too," said the man with 135 international caps to his name.
