Maradona Should Go And Sell Newspapers - Keita

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Mali international Seydou Keita believes that Diego Maradona would do a better job selling newspapers than being head coach of Argentina, after their defeat at the weekend to Brazil.

The Barcelona star was riled by comments from the Catalan club's former star that Lionel Messi should become a man and took his chance to let the trainer know he is not a fan.

Argentina have it all to do in order to qualify for the World Cup Finals after being beaten by their arch rivals and Keita has laid the blame firmly at the feet of Maradona.

"The coach does not play the game, Maradona could do well selling newspapers, but perhaps as a coach he's no good because he does not play," he was quoted as saying by EFE.

Keita added that he would like to see Argentina make it to South Africa next summer, but only for the sake of his team-mate Messi who he believes would be a star at the tournament.

Mali are already out and Keita publicly asked the country's Football Association to allow him to join up with the squad in January for the African Cup of Nations late so he would not miss many Barca games.
