Mate Bilic, Sporting Gijon (Marca)

1961: Andoni Zubizarreta: Goalkeeper Zubizarreta won a record 126 caps for Spain, playing at four World Cup finals between 1986 and 1998. His club career began with Athletic Bilbao where he won two league titles, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup in five seasons before joining Barcelona where he added four successive league crowns, two Copa del Rey's, two Super Copa's, a Cup Winner's Cup and a European Cup, which was the first in Barca's hsitory in 1992. He moved to Valencia in 1994 and retired four years later with a record 622 Primera Liga appearances to his name.

1980: Mate Bilic: Croatian striker Bilic first came to Spanish football in 2001, joining Real Zaragoza, but failed to make an impact and was subsequently loaned to Almeria and later Sporting Gijon. After spells in the Segunda Division, he joined Rapid Vienna in 2006 and returned to Spain two seasons later in a permanent switch to Sporting. In his second spell at the club, he has managed 22 goals in 59 appearances and has also won one cap for Croatia.
