He says he asked to play despite the knock he received at the weekend...
Andres Iniesta has revealed that he asked Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque to let him play against Bosnia despite not being 100 per cent after the knock he picked up against Armenia.
La Furia Roja secured a comfortable victory in the end, winning 5-2 to complete a perfect qualifying campaign, with ten wins from ten games played and Iniesta declared that the record alone was sufficient incentive to play.
"We all had the incentive to achieve a victory. We wanted to place our name on a new record and we're happy," the dynamic Barcelona midfielder told AS.
"I had a knock but told the coach I wanted to play and in the end it has happened and I am happy. We are playing as we should are now firmly on our way," he added before expressing gratitude at the reception given to Spain by the home fans.
"It is nice to leave a pitch so far from home and be applauded."
