Ajax’s prolific frontman Luis Suarez has been discussing his future and admitted that he is proud of speculation linking him with a potential move to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The 22-year old has been in incredible form this season, finding the net 15 times in the Eredivisie already, and his goalscoring exploits have alerted Europe’s biggest clubs to his abilities.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Marca, the Uruguayan acknowledged the interest of the European Champions and admitted that playing in the Primera Division would be ‘a dream’.
He said, “It makes me proud that the best team in the world has paid attention to me. It is a recognition that I must follow with a calm head and continue my development in Holland.
“However, it would be a dream to play in the Spanish Liga.”
Furthermore, Suarez added that he is aware that the Dutch Eredivisie is not among the top leagues in Europe, but added that is a tight division which makes for many close matches.
He stated, “I am working well at the moment but I know playing in Spain would be a jump in quality. I also know that the Eredivisie is inferior to other leagues, but it also very competitive.”
