Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito is set to finally return to competitive action after 20 months out of football at the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, according to Goal.com Spain.

The 29-year-old Argentinian has not played for the Blaugrana since damaging ligaments in his right knee in the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Manchester United in 2008.

Milito featured in a friendly against Bolivian outfit Bolivar last week as he continues his recovery. After months recovering from surgery, his recuperation work began in February of this year and Barca have been extremely careful to bring the player back slowly and avoid any further relapse of the career threatening injury.

Ruben Mino and Jonathan dos Santos are added from Luis Enrique's B team.

The squad in full for the Club World Cup is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Valdes, Pinto, Ruben Mino.

Defenders: Alves, Pique, Marquez, Puyol, Chygrynskiy, Milito, Maxwell, Abidal

Midfielders: Xavi, Iniesta, Keita, Busquets, Toure, Jonathan dos Santos.

Forwards: Ibrahimovic, Messi, Henry, Pedro, Bojan, Jeffren.

Barcelona's first involvement in the tournament will be a semi-final tie on December 16.
