Real Madrid defender Pepe says his side must sacrifice to beat Barcelona in El Clasico on Sunday after a lacklustre UEFA Champions League display from Los Blancos against FC Zurich.

Madrid beat the Swiss outfit at the Bernabeu thanks to a Gonzalo Higuain goal midway through the first half and Pepe feels that the win was the most important thing on the night and also feels that his side must move on and prepare for Barca.

"They [Zurich] have come to defend but the important thing is we won and now we have to rest for the next match," he said, according to AS.

"It's an important game [against Barcelona], we are very motivated and with sacrifice we can win there."

Pepe also said that he was glad to see his Portuguese team-mate back in action as Cristiano Ronaldo made his comeback after an eight week lay-off with an ankle injury.

"I see him with a lot of hunger. He's very important for this Sunday and he can help us win," Pepe noted.
