His most recent recovery programme is now into its second stage according to Sport, as the 29-year-old has returned to his club to continue his comeback.
Milito underwent further surgery in Argentina this summer, organised between the Argentine FA and Barcelona, and it was agreed that the first phase of his recuperation would take place in his homeland.
In some good news for coach Pep Guardiola, the pains in Milito's joints have subsided and the club's medical staff are able to oversee his recovery more closely as he returns to Barcelona.
This is not the first time that hopes have been raised over the former Real Zaragoza defender's return to fitness, and as a result no date has been set for his comeback to the first team.
