Barcelona and Brazil left-back Daniel Alves has spoken of his delight at returning to Salvador de Bahia with the Selecao, having begun his career at Esporte Clube Bahia in 2001.

Brazil take on second place Chile in their World Cup qualifier on Wednesday knowing that they have already secured qualification for the competition in South Africa next year.

The Canarinha will be without some of their bigger names as the likes of Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Lucio are suspended while Manchester City striker Robinho is injured.

Alves feared missing the game through injury but is now likely to start and he says that he wants to play in this game at all costs.

"It's a pleasure to return to Bahia with the national team. I would never have dreamt of living this situation. I would even accept playing as goalkeeper to play in this game," said the Barca star.
