Carles Puyol and Rafael Marquez have returned to Barcelona in order to train with their club team-mates according to AS.
The defensive pair both picked up yellow cards over the weekend, which have ruled them out of the final qualifying games in midweek.
Puyol was cautioned for Spain against Armenia, while Marquez picked up a booking in Mexico's match with El Salvador.
As both sides have already qualified for the World Cup finals in South Africa next year, neither Vicente del Bosque nor Javier Aguirre had any qualms about releasing the suspended duo.
La Furia Roja are currently preparing for their final match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is essentially meaningless for both sides as they are already assured of finishing first and second in the group respectively.
Mexico have also already qualified, while their opponents on Wednesday - Trinidad & Tobago - are bottom of the CONCACAF qualifying section.
